We're so lucky to live here

Sometimes the earth turns at just the right speed for all of us and an idea is hatched and everyone agrees and gravity coalesces and we discover there is life, good life, not to mention gratitude, beyond all the negotiating--well most of it--and second guessing and hemming and hawing and excuse making and blah blah blah-ing.

Seven more days until Ian's visa interview..........

I hesitate to even ask, but what happens after the interview? Are there other clearly delineated steps, or is it just more waiting and then possible action? I ask because even though I don't know you in person, I do think about your situation, so much so that I thought for a minute that I had something scheduled for next week, but then I realized that I had it confused with Ian's interview. (At least I hope I was confused. Otherwise, I do have something scheduled next week but don't remember what it is. Uh-oh.)

Robin: You sound like me with the appointments. I am terrible with dates and times. The interview is the final step towards getting the visa. It is, to my knowledge, just a formality. Everything is in place, they just need his person, not as bad as I do (: present before they grant the visa. The visa will be sent to him following the interview. Sigh. Then he can come home. Fingers crossed that I am understanding this correctly.

Betsy, I have a friend in a similar situation, and from what she tells me, it's the interview, then a medical visit, then they give you the visa. Shouldn't be more waiting. Fingers and toes crossed for you...

Really excited that things are slowly moving along for you guys. At least it's movement. On the bright side, it's already tomorrow in Europe!

Ohh shoot! I remembered it as April 4th :( I was in bed and I picked up the phone to check if it was done since it is now morning in England? I guess still early hours.. Anyway even though I do t know you personally, I've been thinking of this at odd times just like I would if one of my friends was going through it. Good luck! Will check back next week.

Give your girls an extra hug from MI, I wish we could 'do' somethingto help your family be complete faster, but alas we can pray and hope and be thinking of you and then wait. Please know that you are so inspiring and your writing touches my life almost every time I read.

One more night, and Ian will have his interview! Sending positive thoughts your way. I'm not a good "waiter", so I think you've done wonderful to be as patient as you've been.

I shall hold my breath for you and Ian tomorrow, and cross my fingers and toes. My deepest hope is that your predicament is now resolved speedily.
